PROMISE KEPT: PRESIDENT TRUMP GRANTS CLEMENCY TO LARRY HOOVER

Another Victory for MLKR's Grassroots Advocacy

The CHICAGO BLACK REPUBLICAN VANGUARD newsletter is published weekly, but breaking news has forced this special rapid-response edition. Since President Trump's announcement granting clemency to Larry Hoover on his federal sentence, MLKR's inbox, DMs, and text messages have been flooding with gratitude to President Trump for another promise kept.

What Democrat activists and politicians have failed to accomplish for years, MLKR is proud to have advocated for, and President Trump delivered results in less than 200 days. What many political pundits were unaware of is this. While MLKR implemented our 'Grassroots Anaconda Strategy' during the last election in swing states like Michigan and Georgia, thousands of Hoover supporters approached our campaign asking whether Trump would look into Hoover's clemency case.

The Martin Luther King Republicans are proud to practice Dr. King's Principles of Nonviolence and believe firmly in redemption. We do not condone violence or gang-related activities and hope that Hoover's clemency will allow our community to begin a healing process.

STRATEGIC POLITICAL CALCULUS

Granting clemency to Hoover was a strategic masterstroke by President Trump to offset the Union membership stronghold that the Democratic Party maintains in places like Illinois, Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Michigan, Mississippi, and many other areas where Hoover still has influence. Trump's efforts continue to drain Democrats of their base votes and demonstrate how the president is strengthening his relationship with Black Americans. This move will go a long way toward turning Blue districts Red.

KEEPING HIS WORD TO THE STREETS

Trump is keeping his word to the streets. Hoover supporters span across the entire country. Many young men were already impressed with Trump's history of criminal justice reform in his previous administration. They have never received tangibles for their vote, and this makes them feel seen and heard by the administration.

Montell Davies of Chicago's Southside captured the sentiment perfectly: "Trump has so many folks happy today. I knew he was a man of his word!"

CAPITALIZING ON NEW ENERGY

With thousands of Hoover supporters throughout Illinois, county chairs can capitalize on this newfound energy in a voting bloc they may be unfamiliar with. MLKR will be happy to share a strategy on how to reach them, similar to how we captured areas in and around Detroit.

Consider the opportunity in Illinois counties with significant Black American populations outside of Cook County: Will, Lake, Kane, DuPage, Madison, St. Clair, Peoria, Tazewell, Winnebago, and McLean counties all present untapped potential for Republican organizing efforts.

THE 3D CHESS MASTER AT WORK

President Trump plays 3D chess, a metaphor for his strategic thinking and ability to calculate the most effective moves. A special note to our subscribers, political pundits James Carville, David Axelrod and new subscriber Rahm Emmanuel: you all know the power of this particular voting bloc and how the Tillman machine utilized them. It was what helped elect Harold Washington as mayor of Chicago and launched an unknown Harvard grad to the U.S. Senate.

Who knows? If the right GOP candidate (wink, wink) capitalizes on this move and activate this army, a seismic shift could occur, and Illinois may have a shot at turning Red. This potential for change should inspire hope and optimism in the Republican Party.
